Curriculum
The 1998 Education act states that all pupils are entitled to a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based and which
"promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society" and "prepares such pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life." The purpose of this broad and relevant curriculum is to help our children learn what is to be a valuable member of society. It is hoped to promote, to care for, and to nurture the intellectual, creative, physical, emotional, spiritual and social development of the individual child, taking account of his/her age, ability, personality, needs and wishes, the expectations of the community in which the child lives and of society as a whole.
